Sculpted tapestry with wooden beads

This tapestry was created on a whim and I went with my gut on this 100%. That’s why I love the process. It just creates pretty things!

The tapestry is roughly 20x30 inches and it is tufted on a linen fabric and sculpted by hand. Each bead (153 of them!) and the dowel were waxed by hand with a homemade wax made of beeswax and olive oil to protect the wood from humidity and dirt.

The back of the tapestry is protected by a high quality cotton canvas that helps define the shape of it. The sides are serged to protect the fabric from fraying and to add a bit of a rustic look.

You can hang it by a string placed in the center or by hanging on two nails each on one side of the tapestry. Hanging string is provided.
